How to Register a Google Business Profile

To create and verify your Google Business Profile, follow these steps:



Step 1: Create a Google Account for Your Business

If you don’t already have one, you need to create a standard Google Account for your business. This will allow you to access various Google services, such as Gmail, YouTube, Drive, and more. You can use your existing email address or create a new one with @gmail.com.

To create a Google Account for your business, go to https://accounts.google.com/signup and follow the instructions.


Step 2: Sign into Google My Business

Google My Business is the tool that lets you create and manage your Google Business Profile. To sign into Google My Business, go to https://www.google.com/business/ and click on “Manage now”. You will be asked to sign in with your Google Account.


Step 3: Find or Create Your Google Business Profile

Once you sign into Google My Business, you will see a dashboard where you can find or create your Business Profile. If you already have a Business Profile on Google, you can request to claim it and verify your ownership. If you don’t have a Business Profile yet, you can create one by clicking on “Add your business to Google”.


Step 4: Add Your Business Information

To create your Business Profile, you need to provide some basic information about your business, such as:

  • Name

  • Category

  • Location

  • Service area

  • Phone number

  • Website

  • Hours of operation

You can also add more details later, such as photos, posts, offers, products, services, and more.


Step 5: Verify Your Business

The final step is to verify your business so that it can appear on Google Search and Maps. There are different ways to verify your business depending on your location and type of business. Some of the common methods are:

  • Phone call

  • Text message

  • Email

  • Postcard

  • In-person visit

  • Instant verification

  • Bulk verification

You will see the available options for verification after you complete your business information. Follow the instructions for the method you choose and wait for the confirmation from Google.
