How to Link to Your Website on Instagram

Unfortunately, putting a link to your website in your Post caption doesn’t work for Instagram. That’s because it’s not possible to have live links in post captions. That’s why many people direct followers to the link in their bio.

Instead, put a clickable link in the bio on your profile.

Doing this can:

  1. Lead to your website directly.

  2. Open platform like Linktree or Taplink in order to direct your customers to specific resources. This is helpful if you have a large website and lots of offerings (this is what we use).

Here is what it looks like when adding a link in your bio on Instagram:

You can also add a link in your stories. This is a great way to post what you’re offering and do more “selling” while also being able to put a direct link to the product, or appointment booking, etc.

If you have an item on sale, or something that's new, you can put a link directly to the item. It makes it easier for customers so that they don't have as much time to think and reconsider, or even just to get distracted, as we all do on social media!

You’ll find this in the sticker options in Stories (when creating a story, you find "Stickers" by tapping the 3rd icon along the top right corner; it has a smiley face:). We have a step-by-step guide below:

How to Add Links to Your Website on Facebook

There are lots of places on Facebook to share a link to your website. On your Business's Page there is a place to list your website in your About information.

You can share links in posts by simply copying and pasting the link in the caption.

Your links share in a great, intuitive way for Facebook, so it’s definitely good to take advantage. With a link, you don’t even need a photo because it will show a photo from the page linked (assuming there is one).

You can also share links in comments, if someone is asking for “[your type of business] near me” on Facebook, you can share a direct link to your website (and any page on your website) in the comment, which the person can just click and visit.

How to Share Website Links on Twitter

Twitter is another social media platform that makes sharing links to your website easy and intuitive. Make sure you have a link to your website or landing page in your bio on your profile.

In any and all Tweets you can add a link to a specific page by copying and pasting and a preview of the page will accompany the tweet.

Comments on Twitter can also contain a link. This works great, just like Facebook, where someone might ask a question that your website has or is the answer to, and you can lead them right there with the link.

Whenever you Retweet someone else's Tweet (selecting "Quote Tweet"), you can add a link. For instance, the "question" you answered in the example above can be Retweeted as a Quote with the link added for anyone else who might have the same question.

How to Add a Link to Your Website on TikTok

When it comes to linking to your website from TikTok, things get a bit more complicated. Can you link to your website on TikTok? The short answer is, yes, but like many of our status updates, it’s a bit complicated.

You can only link to your website on TikTok if:

  • You have over 1000 followers

OR

  • You have a Business Profile

We don't have 1000 followers yet, and if you're just starting out, you may not either.

So here is how to turn your profile into a Business Account so that you can add that link in your bio. Or, as we say on TikTok, "bink in lio." (It's a TikTok thing)

How to Connect to Your Website on Pinterest

Pinterest is quite possibly THE BEST social media platform to create links to your website. You can link to your website directly in your bio on your profile. BUT also, every single Pin that you share is a link to specific pages.

This is a GREAT way to create backlinks to your website, and this can work for any business, but it’s especially good for visual businesses that are super photo and video-worthy.

And there you have it. A simple guide to where and how you can share your website on social media.
