TikTok

Updated: Jul 9, 2020

While Cathy and Toby are married, he’s been spending a lot of time with something else:

Tiktok.

AKA – his new love.

What’s TikTok?

It’s the most downloaded app right now and has already surpassed Instagram downloads.

It’s making headway in North America, and growing each day.

And it’s not just for teenagers.

Businesses have been using it as a way to connect to their audience in a fun way.

You may think: all the kids are using it!

(Cathy’s niece though Cathy was the COOLEST aunt when she said she watches TikTok).

But it’s growing massive followers, and it’s a great chance to look into it and get to know it as it continues to grow.

How to get started:

Just start consuming it – you don’t even need an account.

You then look into the audio you like to use. It’s a fun way to create content.

Why would you want to explore it as a business?

It skews to the younger demographic. So a lot of people are saying, it’s not for me. Ya – we used to say that about Facebook, then Instagram, then Snapchat….and now TikTok is having that same language.

How would a business owner use it? Here are 6 reasons:

If your market is skewing younger, then it’s a great way to reach them.

If you’re needing to build 10 years of brand, it’s a good way to build the relationship.

Understand that this is how we’re consuming our information. This is an easy way to create, and it’s how we’re consuming information on there right now.

Also, the advertising market hasn’t saturated into it yet. So take advantage of the fact that you don’t have a massive advertising competition right now.

The organic reach is huge.

You can cross-post those videos to Facebook and Instagram. You can create a TikTok Video and cross-post it to Facebook and Instagram. So you’ve made one piece of content and posted it to three platforms.

People always ask what’s next? TikTok.
